Portfolio > Accidental Abstractions

Inspiration is everywhere and there is art in our daily lives. This series was born when a refrigerator part went through the dishwasher, when the words "not dishwasher safe" were ignored. The resulting shape populated my head space for a long time. Here, I explore other shapes from nature or natural forces that get redefined by colorization. These works are, as the curator of one of my first solo exhibitions called them, "new interpretations of familiar forms". Sometimes the exquisite can be found in the mundane.
